About Me
I'm Toni Tan, a freelance photographer based in Kansas City, with a deep passion for technology, art, and proudly serving in the U.S. Army Reserve. I hold a degree in Computer Science with a minor in Studio Art from UMKC. My photographic journey was enriched under the mentorship of acclaimed American art photographer, Elijah Gowin.

Artist's Statement
About twenty years ago, during a trip with my parents in a small Chinese town, an old man approached us with his daughter while we were taking photos in front of Union Station. The girl mistook my dad for a photographer and wanted a picture with her father, who had never been photographed before. Unfortunately, we couldn't fulfill their request as my dad wasn't a photographer, and back then, we lacked the means to send photos instantly.
Their disappointed faces as they walked away are etched in my memory. Even now, my mom regrets not asking for their address to send them the photo when it was developed.
Fifteen years later, I became a photographer. Besides ensuring my clients feel confident in front of the camera, I strive to make my photography services accessible to everyone. Despite the high cost of photography equipment, affordability should never prevent anyone from hiring a photographer.
